Wed 23rd February = Crib/Film Night at the Roldan Grill showing Bucket List at 7pm







Thursday 24th February = Roldan Social Group meeting. 3pm at the Roldan Grill. New members welcome.






Wed 2nd March = Golf putting tournament at Torre Pacheco. Price is 12 euros for members, non members 14 euros to include a round of golf and chicken , chips and salad. Meeting at the Roldan Grill at 1pm.






Wed 16th March = Murcia City tour. Proposed itinerary but things to be finalised at meeting on Thurday 24th.
 

Wednesday 16th March.

The visit will be to the central area and the southern side of the river.

Places to be visited,

The newly restored Casio (This is not a gambling casio).

The Cathedral square including

The Cathedral, Bishops Palace, Music School,

The town Hall, Bank Art Gallery (depending upon exhibition dates)

The Old Grain mill.

The Old military Barrack square complex which contains the Aquarium, Science history and art displays

The full tour is under 3 kilometres in distance and will take approximately 4hours.

There is ample opportunity for refreshment and rest breaks en route.

Travel will be by bus or by car. Directions and meeting points etc will be given nearer the date

MOTORBIKE CONGREGATION

On Sunday 29th of August there will be a congregation of Motorbikes down in Lo Pagan on the beachfront.



This Starts at 9.30am and will have Gogo´s, sandwiches, beer, music,draws and that machine that you show your strength on (can not for the life of me remember the name of this machine)

GO KARTING

There are 2 GoKarting tracks close by.

The closest is in Los Alcazares/San Javier, near the Airport.

There is a cafe-restaurant there too. To get there head for the Airport but at the last roundabout before the airport turn right and its a little further down there, next to Discoteca Mana. Prices start from 6 euros and they different karts for different ages.

There is also a Go Karting track on the way to Cabo de Palos /La Manga Golf resort. They have a again a variety of different karts including dual Karts for smaller kids and an adult, or dual karts for 2 adults! Click pictures below to go to website and see more pictures.

Prices start from 8 euros and there is a cafeteria on site. Open 10.30 am till 12.30am.

Follow the signs to la Manga ( MU-312) and just before Cabo de Palos is exit 13 . The Go Karting is right next to the MU312.

BOAT TRIPS

Whilst I was in Santiago de la Ribera on Sunday, watching the young lads try to walk along the slippery pole to win a leg of ham (confused, well click here to discover the strange custom of the CUCAÑA http://polarisworldandbeyond.blogspot.com/2010/07/walking-plank.html )

I spotted this

The boat timetable from Santiago de la Ribera to the La Manga Strip.

Cost 4 euros each way

Outward 11.30, 13.30. 15.30. 17.30. 19.30. 121.30. 23.30. 01.00

Return 10.30, 12.30, 14,30, 16,30, 18,30, 20,30, 22,30, 00.30

The trip takes approximatly 1 hour and is just a ferry boat.

They do trips from Los Alcazares which stop off at the Isla Grosa (island grosa) and the boat has full bar service and a submarine vision tv!)

So thought it would be an idea to write about all the water sports available to do on the Mar Menor.
