A few kilometres from the walled medieval town of Aledo is the ESTRECHO DE LA AGUALEJA.
This is a hidden geological site, where erosion has made a magical place to go for a walk,
Seemingly if you walk carefully and pay attention you will see fosils from the sea!
How to get there, take the road from Totana to Aledo (which btw is well worth a stop, a walled medieval Town), take the turning to Noniway- RMC21, before km2 on the left is a tarmaced road which takes you to "Estrecho de Agualeja"

This road takes you to a picnic area and parking area, where you can leave your car and go on your walk into a forgotten stunning area.
If you combine going up on the 3rd sunday of the month, you could go to the artesan market in Alhama before

SIERRA ESPUÑA WALKS
A superb way to get out and see the beautifully stunning Murcian landscape, nature and wildlife.
Nest walks are aimed to be sociable events not for people who enjoy scrambling up cliffs and getting puffed! Though you do need to be relatively fit as they do last from between 2-3 hours.
The cost is 5 euros and at the end of the trail everyone tends to go to a restuarant and have a typical spanish meal (not included in the 5 euros)
