FLEA MARKET IN ROLDAN

From Sunday the 3rd of April there will be a Flea Market in Roldan every Sunday. Antiques, clothes, shoes, liquidations, second hand.

Location is next to the Restaurante Bascula, which is on the road to Loa Martinez from Roldan.

II FESTIVAL MUSICANDO - FREE MUSIC IN SQUARES OF MURCIA

Throughout April, May and June there will be free music in the squares and streets of Murcia, Finishing off on the 21st of June for THE DAY OF EUROPEAN MUSIC.

There are lost of different styles of music, with Flamenco, wind and string cuartets, piano, saxafonists. So head up to Murcia and enjoy.

FREE CLASSICAL CONCERTS IN CARTAGENA

Espacios Sonoros has started in Cartagena. There has already been one free concert of classical music in Cartagena, but there are 3 more to follow throughout april, may and june. They will be held at different monuments in Cartagena.

Singers and musicians from Germany, uk, Italy and Spain will perform free concerts.

LOYALTY CARD AT PERLA NEGRA

La Perla Negra pub which is located on the Boulevard near Mar Menor Golf Resort on the road between Torre Pacheco and Los Alcazares.

have introduced a loyalty card, which you need to apply for at the bar, with this card for every 5 drinks you get you get a free drink :)

You can apply for your card now, and start accumulating points on it. Free drinks start after the 1st of April.

You could also accumulate the points and not get free drinks but save up for T shirts, bags, personalised mugs ect...

TAPAS TRAILS

Throughout the year there are Tapas Trails on throughout the region, where various bars and restaurants get together and offer a speciality Tapa and drink for 2.50 euros. The idea is you go round the bars and then vote on the best one.

I have a done a few of these and they are good fun, but..... you don´t need to be here when one is on, just use the maps from the tapas trails of before, and work your way round the different streets, you will find some great little bars and eateries. Obviously you will have to pay normal price.

17th of March is Saint Patricks day and there are events going on at La Torre Golf Resort and Hacienda Riquelme.

As you can see from the flyer there is a BBQ on in the afternoon (booking advisable) and on the evening a special night at The Clover with Indiana Highway playing

As you can see from flyer below there is a lunchtime and eveing bbq, Also 10 bottles of beer 10 euros!

Booking advisable again and you also need to wear something green :)

TAPAS TRAIL UPDATE

As you know the 11th to the 27th of February there was a tapas Trail round Cartagena.

I went down on the 26th evening with some friends and we had a great evening going round a few of the bars having some beers and tapas.

We started off at Carrot Real

and had what they called a breaded anchovy, This was one of our favourite tapas on the whole night.

Then we  had a walk through the streets

 and went up to one of my favourite bar / restaurants in Cartagena , Taperia de Casa Tomas ( to see my review on this place click here:

Here we had something that was a little like a minature sunday dinner!

Next we went just over the square to la Trolla Tapas

and had a minature sandwich with wedges

The next place was a little walk but well worth it, I am definatly going to go back and try their restaurant menu as it was very busy and food looked great.

It was called CASON EL TIO ANDRES



You walked in and there was the bar area, the whole place was buzzing and round the bar were people having tapas and watching the football, the bar area was adorned with produce:

Then as you walked up a few stairs was the main eating area, where there was a Bull watching down one you

We had what was delicious and was like a sausage and onion and potato mash

We finished off in El Barril, which is always a very busy popular place with the locals, it is very conveniently located just up near roman ampitheatre

Here we had an aubergine tapa, which its looks do not do it justice as is very delish ;)

BAMBOO IS AWAKENING!

Great news! it looks like Bamboo on La Torre Golf is coming out of Winter hibernation early! From the flyer I have received from Polaris, looks like reopening 19th March. Super news:

Santiago de la Ribera is holding their Carnaval from the 5th March to the 13th of March with Different events going on.
